Reid is 1!

August 6th, 2013
Reid is One!

Reid, it is incredible to think that a year ago today your Dad and I were bursting with anticipation to see what you would look like and who you would be! From the second you entered this world and showed us you, our lives have been filled with an unexplainable joy and love beyond our comprehension. We love our funny-faced, crazy-haired Reidy Pie so much!

You've really mastered this walking thing! You can catch your balance now and you make sure to show it off by making turns on a dime and looking for an applause! Clapping is by far one of your favorite things to do now:) Whether it's for a catchy tune or for an accomplishment you are right there clapping it out!

First Fourth!

Fun at Wyoga Lake with your cousin Klara!

You haven't quite grasped the concept of personal space yet.

And you sure do have a sweet farmer's tan!

You are very good at helping get all the laundry out of the basket...we will work on putting the folded back in !

Outdoors, picking up little pieces of mulch, leaves or rocks is definitely a favorite activity of yours:) You are such an observant fella and seem to find the tiniest of particles in your explorations...you are especially good at finding crumbs! You have learned to point to the sky when we say or hear and airplane and making a whooshing noise!

Your cousin Evan loves to help take care of you and cheer you on in learning knew things!

You learned how to stack your rings and make the pop up toy go up and down!

You love the song "Old McDonald" and will sing "E.Ih.E.Ih.OOOOO" holding the "O" out for a dramatic effect! You are certainly a musical boy and have learned to bend knees and bounce to music:) You also have some rhythm and love to play drums on tables and pots and pans! You thoroughly enjoy strumming Dad's guitar too:)

We call this one "the Grampy".

You are quite the chatter box now and when you see the trash can you say "yuck!" You also hug and kiss( aka. chomp) your taggy doggy and say "awh" as you pet it.  You also say "ut oh", "ya" and "Up"  along with many other words that you seem very convinced we should know as you point to things and move your head back in forth in full conversation!

Here you are at the Aquarium in the Akron Zoo where you have learned to perfect your fishy, kissy lips!

You and cousin Evan thoroughly enjoying the car ride at Tuscora Park!

1st train ride with Daddy and a carosel ride with Grandpa Klein!

1st fat lip, the very next day after turning one walking from living room to kitchen! Poor buddy, still managing to smile though! Tough Guy!

Here you are playing at Wyoga Lake park in your little house that you love opening and closing the windows and doors on!

You like ice cream..just a little

We gave you your first baby cone despite your mom's hesitation thinking you wouldn't be able to hold and eat it and well let's just say you did not struggle at all!

 You and your friend "Bink."

Being a big ole ham the morning of your 1st Birthday Party! Lots of smiles despite carrying on the 1st theme by  having your lst ear infection and 1st diaper rash! .
Pretty soon you also decided to finally drink your milk cold and use your spoon by yourself! So big!

You helped Daddy put together your present from Grandma and Grandpa Klein!

You're Big Day!

S

Showing up "fashionably" late to your party after your nap!

Lots of hugs and kisses for the Birthday Boy from family and friends!

Grandma and Grandpa Klein

Hanging out with your big cousins Chloe and Mia now that your one!

Grampy!

Auntie Christina and Mrs. Beck!

Mommy forcing THE birthday hat upon you!

This was your cautious reaction to 60 people singing to you and a flaming piece of cake coming towards your face!

Still pretty hesitant about this whole deal until....the little taste of frosting was had....

 And then....

This happened!

And this!

Strong finish!

The lake came in handy for cleaning off some extremely crisco-infused frosting!

Great Grandma Klein!

Your cousin Chole loves giving you lots of hugs and kisses!

Your cousins Mia and Evan were so excited to help you open your presents!

Cousin Chloe did some great drawing for your card! She drew each of us and was especially proud of remembering to put in your dad's hair.

Enjoying your new Birthday wagon!

Mommy had to put your 1st "Birthday Hat" back on for your actual day!

Dancing like it's your Birthday!

Here you are feeling accomplished after finally getting that crazy "Birthday Hat" off your head! And  Living in luxury in your new bath towel from mommy's friend Danielle!

You learned this new "fine motor skill" on your actual 1st Birthday....oh goodie.

We went to celebrate at the Akron Zoo with Grammy and Grampy!

You love to put your hand out and touch the rain!

Celebrating Great Grammy's 80th Birthday with the Vincents and all the cousins!

Getting your hairs cut for the first time professionally! You did great, with the distraction of " Curious George" to divert your eyes away from staring at the scissors!

You got a rubber ducky in exchange for ALL that hair! And what did you instantly do with it...why of course shove it into the mouth and walk around like it's normal to walk around with small objects projecting out of your mouth:)
