8 Month's Old!
April 6th, 2013
You learned to crawl!!! You throw a little hop and a lunge in there to add your own flare to it:)
You also are pulling yourself up with ease on everything and standing for up to 10 seconds on your own!
Looking dapper in your adorable wooly, lamb-y sweater made by aunt Doreen. Keeping you warm on the snowy days we are still having this Spring!
You love pulling out the "Kissy Lips" face combined with inhale snorts to get a reaction from the crowd!
You are also the only child I have ever met who sometimes leans into getting your nostrils cleaned out with the bulb sucker!
First time you really got to play and appreciate the outside! You love picking the grass and dandelion heads off and taste testing the leaves and sticks :) You also finally got to wear your Velcro tennis shoes.. you're not a big fan and spent most of your time in them trying to pull them off!
You are quite the cruiser now and enjoy pulling yourself up and down in your pack n' play!
You have THE most impressive bed head! That is once you go down...you have decided to break your streak of being a perfect sleeper and resist bedtime by standing up in your crib and pouting! You are learning when sleep time is now, though. You usually totally collapse/plop down onto your bottom and then belly from a standing position and instantly close your eyes once Mom or Dad come in to put you back to sleep :)
Your signature faces are either wide mouthed or tongue out:) You are such a ham!
This is another new face that we have labeled the "stink face" that often comes out the moment we try to capture a sweet smile with the camera!
You love eating noodles now and will eat anything we give you off our plates, but carrots and bananas remain your all time favorites!
You have mastered your pincher grasp and can pick up the tiniest particle..which makes being out side a work out for your Mommy and Daddy--who are often leaping to swipe things from your mouth!
Your favorite things to crawl for are of course the off limits items like the fireplace and DVD player!
You learned how to use your sippy cup!
Your favorite place to stand and pull yourself up on in this stoop between the kitchen and living room!
Some of your other tricks this month that elicit this type of I'm-very-proud-of-myself smile include: splashing in tub, forced high fives, taking assisted steps and waving goodbye (stretching your hand out)!
9 Months!
May 6th, 2013
19lbs 8oz. 29in.
It's hard to believe that we have known you for as long as we eagerly waited to meet you!
Here you are in your nursery displaying your standing skills! You are the funniest sleeper with either your buttocks up in the air on your knees ready to crawl or curled up on side with head against crib rail:) One of our favorite things to do is to sneak in and and take a peek at you sleeping :)
You have learned how to get back down from the kitchen to living room stoop by going backwards! You also laugh hysterically when we play hide and seek with you:)
Your cousins cheered you on at Grammy and Grampy Vincent's house as you climbed stairs for the first time!
Dance party to celebrate your stair climbing!
No worries, you have your almost 5-month-old cousin Nathan by a whole 8oz 9-month Reid!
You have this crawling thing down now and have even improvised on cement with shorts to a bear crawl to protect your knees!
We aren't sure if it is the hair or just your most adorable face, but you have been mistaken for a girl by more strangers than we can count, despite us dressing you in distinct boy attire!
You can stand for about 15 seconds on own, but have decided it is more fun to just plop down on your bucky :)
"Stink Face!" You can now go from a sitting to a standing position on your own!
You sent Mommy a postcard of yourself, made her a funfetti cake, got her flowers and a frozen yogurt maker for her first Mother's Day!
Thank you for making me feel like the proudest Mother in the world Reid! I get to thinking that I couldn't possibly love you any more than I do and then another day comes!
You have discovered how to take things out of there place and place them elsewhere......
You can hold a spoon and get it to your mouth when you feel like it, but then you find it very funny to not let it go!
Haircut #3! Daddy does a great job despite your dancing around to the music of your favorite Baby Einstein movie!
